My Account Questions
Why does Checkout Detail tell me "Player X unassigned?"
If the checkout page Status is reporting your Player is unassigned, you need to select your Child's name from the drop down box below the Registration Items (it will say Select One until you do). If you only see your name (or other Parent / Guardian), you need to enter your Child as a player. Simply click the "New Registrant" button. When finished you should be able to complete your checkout.
Note: If registering a team for the Father Hooper tournament, select yourself (the Account Owner, responsible party, or coach) from the drop down box.
Why does Checkout Detail tell me "Player Not Eligible?"
There are several reasons the Status may report your child is not eligible for the program you have selected:
-
Check to make sure you picked the correct program. If not, simply hit "Remove" and then "Add Additional Programs" to select the righ program. If you aren't sure, check the eligibility grades and birthdays on the Soccer Programs page.
-
Check to make sure the system has all the needed information about your child and that it is accurate. The most likely cause of the Not Eligible message is missing or incorrect Grade or Birthday information. Returning clinic and inhouse players may see this because the system does not automatically move them to the next grade. From the Checkout Detail page, simply click Edit below the player drop down (with your child selected). This page will ask for Grade (fall 2008) or Birthday, which ever is required for the program.
Do you still offer a family discount?
Yes SHGSC offers a discount to families registering multiple players. With the new online registration the discount is automatically applied to the appropriate registration fee(s). The discount is only applicable to registrations made in the same season (e.g. Fall 2007). The following discounts apply:
What is the SHAA Refund Policy?
- A full refund will be applied if SHGSC is unable to place the registered player within a program.
- No refunds shall be granted for any reason other than stated above. I.e. losing interest, schedule conflicts with other activities and changing clubs are not valid reasons for requesting a refund.
- All refund requests must be submitted in writing with documentation to Board of Directors and will be reviewed after the completion of the season. Approved refunds will be issued at that time, no exceptions. Any refunds granted by the board will incur a $20 administrative fee.
- No fees, or any part thereof shall be refunded in the event of suspension of a player for disciplinary reasons, nor for temporary or permanent suspension due to unforeseen emergencies.
When is My Pay-by-Mail Due?
SHAA prefers payment online with a credit or debit card. If this is not possible, pay-by-mail can be selected. Checks should be sent in as soon as the registration has been completed. Unpaid registrations may be moved to the waitlist and are not included in the player drafts. Send checks to:
Sacred Heart Athletic Association
P.O. Box 802
Reisterstown, MD 21136
If your program is already Sold Out, that means both the program and waitlists are full. One thing you can do is to Volunteer as a Coach or Asst. Coach for that program. There is not guarantee this will open up the registration for your child, however, for many of our programs, the biggest constraint on size is the number of volunteers available.
Each program coordinator sets the maximum size for registration based upon the estimated number of players and coaches for each age group. There is also a waitlist established which is normally equal to the size of an additional team. As registration fills and the registration period draws to a close, the coordinators will determine the best way to accomodate the waitlist by expanding existing team roster sized or adding another team. Players on the wait list will be added on a "first registered, first placed" basis. Last year we accommodated over 99% of wait list players, but there is no guarantee.
Does SHAA hold player try-outs? Are evaluations the same thing?
No, SHAA evaluations are to determine player's sklll level and to provide coaches with some initial exposure to the kids. Evaluations are not really to determine "if" a child makes a team, rather "which" team (based on skill level).
The In-House programs holds a draft and the coaches are allowed to select players of their choosing as long as their team maintains a certain ranking. This is done to ensure that all of the teams are as evenly competitive as possible.
For the Travel programs, players must attend evaluations so they can be observed by the coaches. For the 2008 season, we are implementing an extended workout / practice schedule throughout the summer in place of specific evalutation dates. All registered players will be combined into their gender and age group until the player draft is completed. This will provide greater opportunity for coaches to observe players in a more relaxed and realistic setting. It should also work better for family vacation plans. Details on the schedule and participation requirements will be provided by the Travel Coordinators (via email). In late July / early August, the travel coaches will hold a draft to place players on a team that matches their skill level. Each team is also placed in an appropriate league within the Archidiocese of Baltimore Soccer Program and may be invited to play an alternate club league. Once evaluations and team selection are complete, occassionally a player who isn't ready to play travel is invited to play in-house.
Can my child and their friend be on the same team?
The SHAA policy regarding player requests is to try to accommodate requests whenever possible for the Kinder Kicker and Clinic programs. However, we can not honor requests for those playing In-House or Travel. The only exception to this is for the children of the coaches.
When will my child's team practice and play their games?
Team practice schedules are not finalized until the beginning of the Fall season. This is because SHAA won't have final field allocations from Baltimore Countil until August.
Generally Clinic & Kinder Kickers usually play Saturdays between 9:00am & 1:00pm. They usually have one or two practices per week (before the start of the season). Practices start sometime in August and the season usually starts the week after Labor Day, and runs for 11 weeks.
The practice schedule for Inhouse and Travel teams is determined by the coach and program coordinator. Typically, practices are two or three times per week before the start of the season and twice a week once games start. Inhouse and Boys Travel games are typically on Saturday and Girls Travel games are on Sunday afternoon.
If you are not receiving the automated email notifications about upcoming SHGSC events, it is usually for one of two reasons.
- When you set up your SHAA Online account you did not Opt-in to receive the email notifications. To check this, log onto your My Account page and Edit the person that is the primary Guardian / Account Holder. At the bottom of the Account form is a checkbox. This should be checked to receive the email notices.
- or your email client is filtering the messages as Junk Mail. To correct this add info@cminotification.com to your Safe Senders list and check your Junk folder for messages from this sender.
Can I change the email address used for My Login?
Yes. The email address you used to create your 'My Account' can be changed at any time. Just go to the My Account page, click the Info tab, then click Edit button next to Account Information. Change the email address and then click the Update button at the bottom of the page. Note: this email address is different than the one used for notifications. See below.
Can I change the email address used for notifications?
Yes. The email address used by the SHAA Online system is the email address for the Primary Guardian. By default this is likely to be the same as your Account Login email. However, if you would like that to be a different address (home v.s. work), you can change it. Just go to the My Account page, then click Edit button next to name of the Primary Guardian (probably you). Change the email address and then click the Update button at the bottom of the page. Note: this email address is different than your account Login Email. See above.
